Terms of Service

Last updated June 16, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern your use of Turf Totals, a skill-based sports pick’em game operated by McRitchie Studio (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or entering a contest you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

Eligibility

  • You must be of legal age to participate in skill-based contests in your state: 18+ in most states, 19+ in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21+ in Iowa, Massachusetts, and Virginia. You attest to this when you create an account.
  • Turf Totals is a game of skill, not chance. It is available only where skill-based contests are permitted — see the state eligibility section below. We use approximate location to enforce this; you may not use a VPN or other means to circumvent geo-eligibility.
  • One account per person. Operating multiple accounts may result in suspension and forfeiture of entries.

State eligibility

Paid contest entry is not available in the following U.S. states. This list is rendered from the same setting our IP-geolocation enforcement reads, and it may change as state law and guidance evolve:

  • Arizona AZ
  • California CA
  • Hawaii HI
  • Idaho ID
  • Louisiana LA
  • Montana MT
  • Nevada NV
  • Washington WA

Eligibility is enforced by IP geolocation when you enter a contest or move funds. See the State Eligibility page for details.

How contests work

  • Each contest presents a slate of team matchups. You select six to form an entry.
  • Each pick is scored as the team’s goals scored multiplied by its Turf Score; your entry score is the sum.
  • Entries are ranked highest score first, and prizes are paid per the published payout table for that contest.
  • Once a contest locks (at its published lock time, enforced on-chain), entries can no longer be submitted or changed. Settlement occurs after the relevant real-world matches conclude.

Payments, entry fees, and payouts

  • Entry fees and prizes are denominated in U.S. dollars and settled in USDC, a fully-reserved U.S. dollar stablecoin, on the Solana blockchain. A $500 prize is $500 — settlement in USDC determines how it is delivered, not how much it is worth.
  • If you pay from your own wallet, your funds remain there until you enter a contest; entering transfers exactly the entry fee and nothing more. We do not request token approvals, spending delegation, or custody of an open-ended balance.
  • Contest-entry credits (entry tokens) may be purchased by card. Each credit redeems for one contest entry. Card data is handled by our payment processor under its own secure systems — we never see your full card number.
  • Prize payouts are released from a per-contest prize-pool account secured by a 2-of-3 multisig. No single key can move prize funds.
  • All blockchain transactions are final and irreversible once confirmed. Network fees and third-party payment-processing fees are non-refundable.

Refunds and cancellations

  • Cancelled contests. If a contest is cancelled before it locks, entry fees are refunded in the form you paid, within 7 days of cancellation: entries paid with a purchased entry credit have the credit restored (or, on request, refunded to your original payment method), and entry fees paid in USDC from your wallet are returned in USDC. Contact alex@turfmonster.media and we will process it within that window.
  • Editing your entry. While a Turf Totals contest is open you can change the picks on a submitted entry from the contest page (picks whose real-world games have already kicked off cannot be changed, and Survivor entries do not support editing). Once a contest locks, entries are final: fees have entered the prize pool and cannot be withdrawn or refunded.
  • Unused entry credits. Purchased entry-token credits that you have not redeemed for a contest entry are refundable on request to your original payment method — contact support and we will process the refund within 7 days.
  • On-chain finality. Confirmed blockchain transactions are final and irreversible; network fees and third-party payment-processing fees are non-refundable in all cases.
  • Card disputes. Before disputing a charge with your card issuer, please contact alex@turfmonster.media — nearly every issue is resolved faster by support. Charges appear on your statement under the descriptor TURF MONSTER.

Acceptable use

  • Do not cheat, collude, exploit bugs, or use automated agents to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Do not attempt to access other users’ accounts or interfere with the game’s operation.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and void affected entries.

Referral Program

Every account has a personal referral link of the form .../contests/:slug?ref=<your-slug>. Share it from any contest page using the “Bring  ✌️ Friends, Get a Free Entry” card and you’ll earn free contest entries when your invites convert.

How a referral is recorded

  • When a visitor lands on any Turf Totals page with a ?ref= parameter, the referrer slug is saved in the visitor’s browser before the URL is cleaned up.
  • The referrer is locked in the moment they sign up or log in for the first time after clicking. After that, the link is associated with their account permanently and cannot be changed.
  • If a visitor already has an account, the referrer is recorded only if they don’t already have one.
  • Self-referrals are rejected.

How a free entry is earned

  • A free entry is credited to the referrer when two distinct invitees each sign up and submit a paid contest entry of their own.
  • Sign-ups alone do not qualify. The invitee must complete an entry; carts and abandoned entries don’t count.
  • Referrals stack: every two qualifying invitees earns one free entry. Four qualifying invitees earns two, and so on.
  • Free entries are credited as Entry Tokens (see your Account page) and may be redeemed in any open contest they cover.

Eligibility & abuse

  • Inviter and invitee must be different real users. Multiple accounts controlled by the same person disqualify the referral chain and may result in account freezes.
  • Turf Totals reserves the right to void referrals, revoke earned free entries, or freeze accounts that abuse the program.
  • The program may change or end at any time; entries already earned will be honored.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The game is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Blockchain networks, wallet software, and third-party providers are outside our control and may experience delays, congestion, or outages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of Turf Totals is limited to the entry fees you paid for the contest giving rise to the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
