About Turf Totals

A skill-based sports pick’em game for the 2026 World Cup.

What Turf Totals is

Turf Totals is a skill-based pick’em game built around the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Each contest gives you a slate of team matchups. You pick six, each one carrying a Turf Score weighted by the team’s world ranking, and your entry is scored as goals scored × Turf Score once the real matches are played. The highest total across all entrants wins the prize pool.

Prizes are denominated in U.S. dollars and settled in USDC, a fully-reserved U.S. dollar stablecoin, on the Solana blockchain — so payouts are transparent and verifiable on-chain rather than sitting in an opaque custodial balance.

How it works on-chain

  • Entering a contest is a single SPL token transfer of your USDC entry fee from your own wallet to the contest’s operator revenue account, routed through our open, on-chain Turf Vault program. There is no token approval, no delegate authority, and no “unlimited spend” grant — each transaction moves exactly the entry fee and nothing else.
  • Your USDC stays in your own associated token account until you choose to enter a contest. Turf Totals never takes custody of an open-ended balance.
  • Prize payouts are distributed from a per-contest prize-pool account and require a 2-of-3 multisig to release — no single operator key can move prize funds.
  • Anyone can audit the live numbers on our Proof of Reserves and Smart Contract pages, which read the on-chain accounts directly from your browser.

Who builds it

Turf Totals is built and operated by McRitchie Studio, an independent software studio. The game, the web app, and the on-chain Turf Vault program are developed in-house. We run on Solana for fast, low-cost, verifiable settlement, and we use Phantom and other Solana wallets for sign-in and payments.
