Glossary

Turf Score
A scoring boost applied to each pick based on team ranking. Lower-ranked (underdog) teams have higher Turf Scores, making them riskier but more rewarding.
Seeds
Loyalty points earned by entering contests. You earn 65 seeds per entry. Seeds accumulate on-chain and unlock higher levels over time.
USDC
A stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. Turf Monster uses USDC for entry fees and payouts so your balance always reflects real dollar value.
SOL
The native currency of the Solana blockchain. Small amounts of SOL are needed for transaction fees (fractions of a cent). Turf Monster covers these fees for you.
Devnet
A test version of the Solana blockchain where tokens have no real value. Turf Monster currently runs on devnet while in beta — all USDC and SOL are test tokens.
Managed Wallet
A Solana wallet created and managed by Turf Monster on your behalf. You don't need Phantom or any external wallet — we handle the blockchain interactions for you.
Phantom
A popular browser extension and mobile wallet for Solana. Optional — connect it if you want self-custody of your keys and direct on-chain interaction.
Escrow
A smart contract that holds the contest prize pool until the contest settles. Prize funds are locked and can only be released as payouts to winners or refunded if the contest is cancelled.
Entry Fee
The cost to enter a contest, denominated in U.S. dollars and paid in USDC or USDT when the contest accepts it. Paid entries transfer funds from your wallet to operator revenue; the prize pool is funded separately.
Payout
Prize money distributed to top-ranked entries after a contest settles. Denominated in U.S. dollars and paid in USDC to the winner's wallet.
